Winfield-Mt. Union Elementary Resource
Hi, I'm Mrs. Phelps!
Let me introduce myself.
I have been teaching in the area of special education since the fall of 1978. My first teaching job was in a special class with integration setting. I taught in a classroom for kindergarten through third grade students with special needs. The students were from five school districts. I remained in that teaching position for 17 years, and I loved working with the students, staff and families.
My current teaching position at Winfield-Mt. Union is the elementary resource room teacher. I have been teaching in this capacity since the fall of 1995. This position allows me to provide supplemental or total instruction to students with special needs in the grades of kindergarten through fifth and in the areas of reading, math, written expression and/or behavior. The students generally come to the resource room for instructional services. Sometimes, if my teaching schedule allows, I am able to co-teach with the general education classroom teacher(s) in their classroom(s) to provide services to students.
I continue to love teaching and learning right along with the students, staff and families that I serve.
